CHILD CURIOSITY

Do you like to spend time with children? If yes, what you have learnt about them? We all know they are angels on the earth. If you love them they will reciprocate happiness to you.

Spending at least an hour with the children I learned that they always ask right questions. They are naturally curious to learn about things around them. Most of the time I feel helpless in answering them and the questions they often ask beget more questions or a series of questions.

This evening, I was playing (like her, on her instruction) with a three and half year old girl. Her questions were like these:

a. Why the sky is blue?
b. Why don't you stay at our home?
c. From where the water falls when it rains?
 d. Where do the stars hide during daytime?
 e. Why can't we see things in darkness?
 f. What is family? etc etc.

Sometimes we have answers to their questions, sometime we don't bother to answer them and sometimes we don't have answers to their questions.

Hope,  we often confront such situations. In my context I often try end their curiosity but if it becomes out of capacity I try circumvent them to other things.

Please let us know what you do in such situations.

LET ALL CHILDREN BE IN SCHOOLS IN THIS POST- LOCKDOWN PERIOD

Fortunately, children are going to school again. Some are in a regular way and some others are on every alternate day. But the worrying fact is that many other children are still away from school. When I met some parents of such students, their answers were were almost similar, “We are going through a very difficult time, its very hard to afford the uniforms and also unable to pay the monthly fees which has not been paid for months.” When I talked to the parents I noticed the plights that they have been undergoing.

The lockdown, which was imposed countrywide in India for a long period of time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, snatched away livelihood of many families across the country. The Covid-19, a major cause of global economic slowdown also severely impacted on children education and learnings.

The education system had been jeopardized with the lockdown announced in India towards the end of March, 2019. Although schools resumed recently under some Covid protocols, many children are still out of school.
Childhood is the most important period of learning as the children have innate quality to learn. But if there were no schooling for the children of uneducated parents or guardians, how they could learn. In some cases many children, whose ages around 8-year still struggling with their primer chanting ba, bi, bu, be…. The first step of learning for life has been missed which is very difficult to recuperate in the entire lifetime.

Social distancing or stay at home also affected the children in rural and urban areas differently. Children have the right to play but they could not in the entire period of lockdown. By playing games, children learns many crucial things. It also helps them in physical and mental growth. Children also need other recreational activities. But all these were snapped for children in this period.

Hope, may God help in ending the pandemic! No………Delta, no Omicron, no any lethal variant. Let all be over soon.

SNAKES IN TELEVISION

Sumit's school was closed for past several months as all primary level schools had been declared closed due to the lock down imposed by the government.  But his parents offices were resumed. Therefore, except Sumit no one was there at his home.

He felt ennui and boredom when he stayed alone. He switched on to the television and watching in the evening. Suddenly Sumit stood up, screamed and run outside. Hearing the screams,  his neighbors hurriedly reached courtyard Sumit's house and enquired what really had happened to this little boy. Out of fear he was trembling, he could not speak properly,  it seemed he was using all his might to delineate what actually had happened to him.

Few moments later,  he started to talk whispering and shivering voice, "I saw hundreds of poisonous multicolor snakes in the television." Everyone shocked on hearing him and asked, "So what? " He told that these snakes would bite and eat him. All of them laughed loudly and retorted, "These aren't real, they can't come out from the TV. They are just appearing as visual." Sumit analyzed the fact to the people there and told, "We only know the snakes are appearing in the TV but the snake may not know whether they are in the TV or not. If the snakes have forgotten that they aren only in the TV ". People gathered there laughed loudly.  They told nothing but later they moved from there silently.

MONKEYS IN THE HANUMAN TEMPLE

Hi friends,
Good morning to everybody!
My name is Himashree, a class 3 student in English school,
I live with my parents in a village in Gogamukh,
I like story telling,
Today my story is on monkey.

Last year,  after our annual examination,  my parents and me traveled to a Hanuman temple situated in a hilly terrain far away from my home. Before we reached the temple we could see the serene beauty of the tree covered hill. Our vehicle was slowly creeping upward through the road curved out  in the hillside. Before our vehicle climbing the hill we entered a dense forest. My father told,  "One there were so many wild and beautiful animals - including  various species of big cats, deers, gaurs, elephants other reptiles roamed in the place. But now a days these have been disappearing due human intervention.

When we were traveling beneath the forest canopy we noticed  few monkeys jumping from one branch of the tree to another. Few birds were chirping and twittering in jungle.  What I saw everything were fascinating to me.
The cool breezes gave us extra comfort and we could breathe clean air. Only few cars were plying through the narrow zigzag road.

Closer to the temple we could see more monkeys - some even blocked the road moving on the road. Our vehicle became slower.  Few more vehicles were behind us. Our driver blew the horn but they did not bother  to notice the hunk. We finally reached the  temple campus where we could see innumerous monkeys and pigeons. The pigeons were eating crumbling pieces of breads and grams. They cooed everywhere. I had never noticed the strange behavior of the monkeys, they were too playful. They were squatting from one place to another. The mother monkeys were always taking care of the baby monkeys. They carefully carried them on the back and sometimes  the baby monkeys hugged mom from the bottom side. When our vehicle stopped the surrounded us. My father  came out of the vehicle and carefully opened the deck so that they could  access to the bananas  we carried to them. I never saw any monkey from so close. It made me happy. The monkeys hurriedly entered our vehicle and jumped on the bananas. My father, once told me that bananas were favorite food to them. The monkeys were fighting frivolously over the bananas but we carried a lot. My father  threw them the bananas. Some were so close and the bananas were taken directly from the hands of father. It was a wonderful experience. Although they were wild and ferocious they didn't hurt us or anybody.  They were too funny in behavior. Mom and I enjoyed their behavior from a certain distance.

I heard from my mom that long ago we were monkeys. The human kinds, millions of years ago, evolved from the monkeys/apes. I wanted to ask my mom why we had became human and why these monkeys still remained monkeys. But suddenly I saw a monkey was walking like human on two feet. Yes, it resembled to a man, although short and covered with fur.

After feeding them we entered the temple.  My father held me up so that I could rang the temple bell.

We prayed Hanuman ji there. On the way back home in the evening  we ate some sweets in a hotel en route. Here I end the story. Thank you all for listening my story.

AMY'S STORY: MIDNIGHT ADVENTURE IN JUNGLE

AMY'S STORY

 Hello friends,
 My name is Amy
I live in South Carolina with my parents and brother.
I'm 8- year old little girl
And today I will tell you a story
The story goes like this. Hope you will all enjoy it.

OUR JUNGLE ADVENTURE.

It was the month of December. I and my brother were coming from maternal uncle's home. We were late in the evening. The Sun was setting down and it would be dark even before we reach our home. Both of us talked about the jungle that we had to be crossed. We walked fast but when we reached the jungle area it became dark.

Panic grew among us. My brother tried to assure me that nothing would happen. I told my brother Eric, "I'm in fear, let's go back ". But he insisted that we could reach home. There was a weird sound in the jungle. I was shivered,  my brother also. We tried to go ahead.
My brother told me, " Amy follow me. Don't look behind you". I followed his footsteps that's too sound loud. Suddenly he told, "We have lost the direction. I'm confused which side we will go". Hearing it my heart started Pounding,. I remembered all the terrific stories associated with this jungle which had been told to us by the elderly persons of my village. I was about to cry, my feet were trembling. I asked Eric that what could be done. Eric was still confused and panic was growing among us.

Suddenly he shouted, "Oh, a tiger is in front of us ". I felt a tremendous shook beneath my feet. I prayed to God and consoling myself  I very steadily went towards the tiger. The tiger roared and told us that he would eat us. Eric was just behind me.  I asked  whether he had ever eaten rice cake. He answered in the negative. I emboldened myself a little more and told him that rice cakes were too delicious. "My mom can make it. I'll give you to eat tomorrow morning if you want to be our friend. We will come with rice cakes and play with you". The tiger didn't know anything about rice cakes and thought that it would be delicious. Therefore,  he agreed and let us leave the place. I felt that I would shout for mom but that would be futile from such a dense forest. Somehow we escaped from the tiger.

Amid the darkness,  we saw a ghost like creature. My brother told me it was a ghost - a mother ghost that surely eat us. We prayed God. But there was no sound in our prayers but we could only move our lips. She was terrific with large bulging eyes,  long untidy hairs,  long sharp teeth and nails. She wore some dirty tattered clothes. The ghost was jumping  in delight and shouted some weird sounds. "I'll eat one of you and bring another for my kids to feed them. Out of fear we lost all our strength and couldn't move. But we still  prayed God to send us an angel to save us.

Suddenly we saw twinkle light above the trees in the sky and appeared an angel. She chased the ghost and holding both of us in her arms she flew. In a very short period of time we reached a very beautiful place where there were fascinated flowers around us. We breathed fresh air. She gave us something delicious food to us. We told  the adversaries we confronted I jungle.

Towards the morning  we flew again in her cozy arms. We reached home with  a basket full variety of fruits that had given us by the angel. We thanked our angel  who saved our lives.

Our parents felt surprise at our untimely sudden arrival. They asked many questions on our journey. But told nothing what actually happened in jungle.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Fairy Tales by Children is an amazing platform for children who can share their their own stories for other children live around the globe. The primary objectives of the website are to increase their creativity and to develop imaginary skills which also can create fantasy and imagery in the minds of other children.

In present day world many children don't believe in the stories or allegories tell by the elderly persons. Most children are more practical  now and don't believe plants and animals cannot talk as found in old stories told to them by grandparents or others.

But just a couple of months back I  started to talk to the children, aged under 10, and became more friendly to entangled with their activities.  The children groups accepted me sooner than I thought. I actively participated in all their activities. I became a part of their all activities performed by them as children.
I initiated story-telling with them. All were fascinated with the idea of story telling and started a competition  among them who could tell first and fast. The experience of listening to their fantasies were amazing.

I hope the children, from anywhere will love these and also appealing all to share their stories too. We value your suggestions. Don't forget to drop few words for us. Thank you!
